Fresh from the obscure fanart dimension: Danger!

Never Fails

Riiiiight at the sex scene

Reflection

This is like, all Tron all the time over here. Whoopsies.
Rinzler this time. Thinking deep Rinzler-y thoughts. With big pixelly boo boo from his skirmish with Clu.

TRON

The idea of adorable bright-eyed & bushy-tailed late '80s new Grid Tron makes my nerd heart fit to burst. So I drew him! In a similar aint-doin-nothin' pose to this Clu drawing so uhh let's call it a companion piece. Yeah, that sounds fancy!

The Unstoppable Machine

So early last month I got it in my head that I wanted a laptop. I did a lot of shopping around but I wasn't sure which direction to go. And then a friend of mine from SCAD came to visit for the weekend and brought her ModBook. I'd never even considered a tablet PC before...! In my mind they were all terrible, laggy, clunky things not worth the money. But after some extensive window-shopping I got one:

Holy CRAP you guys!!
This thing is.. out of control. It's a Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Tablet. Which.. looking at the website now, I musta gotten on a crazy promotional sale because it most certainly did NOT cost me $2k. Whoa!!
It's 12.5", got Windows 7 (which is still weirding me out lol), an i5 processor, Wacom digitizer with 512 lvls of pressure and no lag, and folds into the lovely portable sketchpad-esque shape you see pictured above.
I was able to initially install Photoshop CS5 and it worked like a charm, but Flash took a bit of finagling. It wasn't recognizing pressure sensitivity, which is quite the problem since I intend to use this thing for work. I have no idea what I did but my buddy suggested a few fixes to try out and VOILA. IT WORKS.
Now my unstoppable machine is complete!!
While trying to work everything out I got cranky and drew this in PS.

And then this little doodle of Scarlett during a billion-hour G.I. Joe: Renegades power-watching session yesterday.

That show is awesome, by the way. Cartoooons!!!

Birthday Corgi

So it's my buddy Eric's birthday today! He is adopting a corgi so I thought this was appropriate. Also he is a viking :)
Happy Birthday, Eric!

Clu

Hey kids! Long time no see!
So, confession time:
I effing love Tron Legacy.

Nothing is happening in this picture but whatever. It's ART and it's TRON and I wanted to draw Clu because he is adorable and cranky and has amazing hair.

Sym-Bionic Titan

I am no longer neglecting you, blogger!
Here is some fan art for Sym-Bionic Titan, which is... SO AMAZING. You really should be watching this show. Seriously. There's 11 episodes so far with (hopefully!) 9 more on the way sometime in the future.
The quality is fantastic, the characters are adorable, the story is fun, and its got aliens and robots!
What more could you ask for?

December doodle

I really hate thinking of titles for these posts

November Highlights

So in my last post I mentioned I was trying to do a drawing a day for the month of November and then... never posted anything again! Haha well that wasn't very smart. I actually did ALMOST accomplish my goal, minus a handful of days over the Thanksgiving holiday where I was feeling lazy. Most of them are really embarrassingly bad, so here are a few that I don't hate. Which will just have to do!

Stuffing my face with bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers oh my godddddd

Best buds

Was starting to feel a little burnt out at this point... haha

Stay tuned for my Xmas card once it's a bit more seasonally appropriate ;)

Sketch November

October is over! Where did the time go??
Anyways, I'm trying to do a non-work-related sketch a day in November this year. I'm finished with my freelance and my nights are mercifully FREE once again!
However, yesterday I was stricken with the single worst headache I have ever had in my entire life. I really can't describe to you how debilitating it is/was. It was relentless, no drugs helped in the slightest, and sleep could not put a dent in it. I have been on the verge of teary-eyed madness all day long. I called in sick though, so I was able to stay home and writhe in misery in the comfort of my bed instead of a subway car. I am finally, 2 days later, feeling better.
And so, entry #1 is headache-related (and technically a day late)

Baseball Fun

Hello dear reader!
Sorry I've been scarce. Working 2 jobs leaves you with very little time. But certainly a better deal than the alternative, so I'll take the work!

It's that time of year again: When I annoy the shit out of everyone cheering for the Phillies in the post-season!! We have tickets to game 6 of the NCLS this Saturday in Philly and up til last night we weren't sure if there was gonna BE a game 6. But the Phils pulled through and now I can live the dream!!

Look for me on TV! I'll be the one wearing a Phillies shirt waving a towel! lol

Saturday Night Fever

Whoa hey guys! Sorry it's been ages. I'm actually employed at the moment, which is excellent! However I am still terrible at working on my own art after work haha. I'm workin on it...!
Enjoy this meager comic offering in the meantime <3

Heatpocalypse NYC 2010

AKA
Freelance in a heat wave

Those of you who've ever had the privilege to use a cintiq for any length of time can attest to the fact that it is not only super awesome and convenient, but also seems to generate heat equivalent to that of a thousand burning suns right underneath your drawing arm. This by no means hinders the awesomeness of the cintiq, it just makes working from home in 100-degree weather super great.
Took a break from work to draw this. It's amazing what having other obligations will do for your desire to draw anything but what you're obligated to draw.

Summer Sessions 1 & 2

Ahoy faithful viewers!
I still haven't gotten the hang of balancing freelance with personal drawing yet. I am seriously impressed by all of you fine folks out there who can do both. Maybe some day??
In the meantime, here's a selection of ladies from the past couple weeks of figure drawing.

Yet More Running

So after months of "training", I can finally run for 30 mins straight.
GOOOOOOOOOOOAL
Cue vuvuzelas!
Though don't be fooled by this drawing, I am in no way nimble enough to ever actually do a split.

Bye Bye Lost

WELL Lost is over forever. I am legitimately bummed out about it today. That or I am hungover from all the Dharma beer we drank.
I celebrated in true nerd-fashion by baking fish biscuits and gathering a dozen fellow Losties together to watch and yell at the TV with me. The finale may have been less than stellar, but the party made up for it! haha.Anyways, I drew this earlier in the week in honor of my two new favorite people: Titus Welliver and Mark Pellegrino. Here everyone's favorite sentient smoke and the great island sage and eminent douchebag sort through their mommy issues. Inspired by this video ([link]) which is amazing, hilarious, holy crap watch it if you haven't already!
(Beware, contains major spoilers through episode 6x16!)

Space Teeth

11 and Amy are best bros.
The new season of Doctor Who is amazing and wonderful and and and... Watch it!! If you're still moping over Tennant, you should totally give these guys a chance to win you over cos they are adorable.

Taco Magic

True story. While getting tacos at El Vagabundo on 41st and Queens Blvd. (the best taco truck in all of New York, just sayin) he told me his tacos would give me POWERS. Then he asked me if I wanted ALL the powers. I said yes, ALL the powers. Except no radishes, please.

Running

So I've decided to take up running. Well, sort of. I couldn't run for more than 2 minutes max so I decided to start out slow using this program and it's been going really well! However tomorrow I have to step it up from running 1min intervals to 2min intervals and I think I might have a heart attack
